Florida A&M University’s online Fast Track RN to BSN curriculum includes 10 core courses for a total of 30 core credit hours. All RN to BSN courses can be completed in FAMU’s flexible online environment. You may complete clinical hours at the facility of your choice with faculty guidance and support.
The RN to BSN curriculum is taught by experts in the field and focuses on effective leadership in healthcare settings. The program also introduces students to graduate-level coursework to prepare them to pursue a master’s degree after graduation.

Core Courses
This course is designed to help students to assess and meet the unique health care needs of variety of vulnerable populations. Students explore community assessment/diagnosis strategies, large-scale program planning and evaluation, impact health care policy and collaborative approaches needed to manage disasters.

This course is designed to help students understand the relationships among research, evidence-based practice (EPD), and quality care. The research process is examined, research studies are critiqued, the use of evidence as a basic for nursing practice is explored. Students learn where to find evidence, how to judge its strength, and how it is used to develop policy/standards of care and ensure quality care.
The course will focus on nursing role in developing and impacting healthcare policy. Students will investigate and explore policy design, implementation and evaluation. The importance on data and communication skills in policy creation and evaluation. Students will learn to analyze state, national, global and professional regulatory health policies influencing contemporary nursing practice.
Death and dying are part of human existence. Nurses are care providers who assist diverse clients at all stages of life from conception to the end-of-life. This course will allow student to explore end-of-life stages and issues; care of dying patients, grief support for patients and their loved ones, and related interdisciplinary care. Additionally, students will assess and process their personal beliefs and about end-of-life care and their role as nursing is providing care.
This is the final course in the RN-BSN program. This course synthesizes the content and skills learned throughout the RN-BSN program.
Electives
This course offers the student an opportunity to discuss and analyze the evolution of health policies in the united states. Topics include the relationship between health policies, economics of health care and health promotion of diverse groups. Students critically analyze state, national, global and professional regulatory health policies influencing contemporary nursing practice, in general and advanced practice nursing in particular.
Focus on health promotion and disease prevention trends across the adult lifespan for all populations groups.
